Iranian National Commission for UNESCO honors Zhaleh Olov, on sidelines of the Selfi 20 Short Film Festival.

Iranian National Commission for UNESCO has honored the veteran actress Zhaleh Olov, on the sidelines of the first edition of the Selfi 20 Short Film Festival in Iran.

Olov was honored with the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO’s Certificate of Appreciation for her lifetime achievement.

Maryam Dousti, the secretary of the Selfi 20, handed the award to the 93-year-old actress, poetess, voice actress, and radio presenter.

Olov thanked the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO and the Selfi 20 Short Film Festival for the award, adding “I am proud to have served the art of my country for 72 years in the fields of theater, radio, dubbing, and poetry.”

The veteran actress took part in various movies such as 'Snowman', 'The Fateful Day', and 'The Visitor of Rey'. She has also appeared in several series, including 'Amir Kabir', 'The Wolves', 'Once Upon a Time', 'The Cherry Orchard', and 'Day of Departure'.

The closing ceremony of the 1st Selfi 20 Short Film Festival, which was scheduled for October 26, has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
